This project is looking at how we see our present from the the viewpoint of our imagined future, and how responsibility of impact is processed and changed to fit within that idealism.

Short film of slogans broken up into Instagram clips, then circulated in commerce through tshirt production. The slogans and method of production reference the idea of ethical living and the role of creativity, the creator and commercial markets within that ecosystem as promoter and protector.

Means of distribution of the project (as with all items on @the99.co.uk) aim to reflect and engage with the current style of creative consumption, commercial and artistic, to be able to address weaknesses and strengths in both, as well as the artist as an ideal.

From the folklore alchemy side of the definition of Homunculus: a humanoid creature. I wanted to make a representation of a modern identity part made by itself, it's domestic surroundings and forces of digital social change. A directionless force existing between these things and moulded from them each pushing against it and suspending them in a kind of ineffective passive movement. Inspired in part by changing landscape out in the real world and the powerlessness felt in addressing them due to their fluid nature.

The Homunculus is made from 3D scans of domestic environments and the performance is motion captured from human movement.

On Real Life is a promotional film about compliance and self-imposed protective limitations of acknowledgement of global issues, and acquiring information about consequence. To try and reflect a new style of 'light-touch' un-grounded navigation of engagement and action which seeks to improve but not become involved, due to a climate fatigued by division. There are no real anchors, no solid points of agreement, no weighty common goals apart from to get more sleep and find ways to accept the cost of that.
